Another Anti-spam technique

I'm part of a website and one of the anti-spam techniques is that you can not post links in your post for a week (another site is two weeks), and it has really cut back on spam. It seems so simple and yet so effective. The site has had a cut back off over 200 spams a week to under 20!!!! People are too lazy to wait and never come back

What do the admins think?
