A question about counting calories

Postby sunshine » Wed Nov 14, 2007 9:46 pm

So I always thought that being on a diet was basically not having the things you liked, etc chocolate, bikkies etc etc, but is it true for example, that if you allow yourself a certain amount of calories per day and you have say 200 left, could you have a chocolate biscuit to use up those 200 calories, and actually not go to hell? And still lose weight? That totally boggles my mind?

I do it...... my maximum is a 200 calorie treat per day. I cannot live without a small piece of chocolate each day!

I love Milky Ways!!!

I have lost approximately 40 kgs to date and still enjoy my chocolate (just very small pieces of chocolate! hehehe)

weight loss should be about a healthy eating and exercise plan that you can stick to for life. Life is not much fun if you can't have the occasional treat. So yeah, you can have occasional treats (and if you are calorie counting then you would include it in that) - the key is balance and being sure that occasional treats are...well...occasional!
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

"You can't change the winds, but you can change the sails"

"Reach out and take control of what lands in your lap"
