How much water should I drink?

Postby Angel » Thu Mar 02, 2006 5:39 pm

Guys,

Most experts say that we should drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, personally I've always wondered whether I drink enough. Should I drink more if I weigh more etc . . .

Found this in the Slimming & Health magazine and just had to share:

To work out exactly how much water you should be drinking multiply your weight in kilos by 0.033 and you'll get your very own personalised water requirements

I personally don't drink much plain water - I add a little (a splash) of diet cordial to it, but do drink a good 6 glasses a day.
I'd say 6-8 glasses would be enough as the amount is based on a general idea I would think.
I can't drink much at all after 7:00pm or I am up all night!! LOL So I get my quota in during the day.
Cheers

At least 6-8 8oz glasses should be enough for our workouts.
If you feel you are working out vigorously then definately drink more.
In summer I drink around 3 litres per day in winter I drink 1½ to 2 litres per day.
There was a survey on an English chat forum I visit and I was horrified to find that many people only drank 1 glass of water per day (setting themselves up for bowel cancer I think) Water not only hydrates the body but it flushes away many of the toxins we ingest.

If I use the Slimming & Health mag formula then I should be drinking 2.6 litres of water a day.

I actually drink a bare minimum of 12 glasses (2.5 litres) a day but can drink up to 24 glasses (6 litres) a day when its a hot, so I reckon I'm doing okay. A glass for me is 250ml. I reckon I actually drink more fluid than this cause I only tally up plain water and herbal teas.

Can't fathom how those people that only drink 1 glass of water feel every day, wouldn't they feel crook all the time, and their systems wouldn't be working very well at all.
