Do 'slim teas' work?

Postby dannyboi » Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:13 pm

I've seen these products in natural food stores and ethnic grocery stores. The slim teas supposedly aid in losing weight, acting as some sort of laxative I think. Any thoughts on these? Do they work?

Here's a sample of one such type:

I would stay away from slim teas.

I bought one from an Asian store once and it did make me poo alot and make my stomach hurt, I couldn't take it for long enough to know if it "works or not".

However no laxative is going to make you lose any weight.

Stay away from these fads :)

I bought a pack of slimming tea once. It did nothing but taste vile. It was supposed to suppress my appetite. Not only did it not do that, but if anything I was desperate to eat something after drinking the tea to get the awful taste out of my mouth!

Now I stick to green tea instead.

Ooh. That doesn't sound too good at all. The weight loss is probably due to dehydration then, which isn't the point.

Guess I'll stick to more conventional methods.
