Low-cal Choc fix!

Postby Czarina » Sat Feb 02, 2008 5:07 pm

I just discovered a gluten-free Milk Chocolate coated wafer bar. You'll most likely find it in the health food aisle, the brand is "Eskal" and it's called a Choco-bar. Absolutely delicious, kills the choccy craving and the best part...only 33.25 calories per bar  , and I find even half of the bar is good enough for a chocolate fix! Yummo! :D

Hey, how much fat does it have in it?

I like the atkins 30gram choc/nut/caramel bar, its 7gram fat, 140cal and only 1gram carbs  But its almost $3 and is tiny!

I think the avg choc bar (eg mars bar) is around 50gram carbs and 12 grams fat. I think if something is low in fat its high in carbs and vice versa. Whoever invents good tasting chocolate that is low in both will be a billionaire, i'd buy it by the truck load

Just to let you know anyway Fiona, here's the full analysis on the wrapper:

Per 25g serve...

Energy - 139kj (33.25 cal)
Protein - 1.4g
Fat Total - 8.4g
-saturated - 5.7g
Carbohydrate - 14.6g
-sugars - 12.5g
Sodium - 21mg

So, there a bit of fat and carbs, but if it can be worked into your daily allowance, it's pretty good for a satisfying choccy treat!
