Hmmm...
I just had a skin chai latte from Gloria Jeans... and it tasted too sweet to be "healthy"

I'm just wondering if anyone knows how much of a difference having skim milk in a syrupy coffee helps?
I know I used to be a sucker for the White chocolate mochas there this time last yr... which is subsequently when I put on a good portion of my 10 kilos!
So are flavoured coffees a bit naughty?

LOL!

it does make quite a diff :)

not sure what size and whether you had cream or whatever but...

1 cup (342mL) of Gloria Jean's Coffees: Drinks, Hot: Vanilla Honey Chai Latte w. Skim Milk, no Whipped Cream, regular = 185cals and 0.2g fat and 11.3g protein

OR

1 cup (339mL) of Gloria Jean's Coffees: Drinks, Hot: Vanilla Honey Chai Latte w. Full Cream Milk, no Whipped Cream, regular = 278cals and 11.9g fat and 10.2g protein

skim is definately the way to go  and you get more protein! :)

Hahaha I had regular skim and no cream.
Was it a bit naughty?
Thought I was being good... but I think maybe next time just a latte or something a little less sweet might be the way to go!

i was surprised by the cals in chai lattes (even with skinny milk) as well. if i'm having a treat i tend to have a small skinny cap or latte with one of the syrups - then it's only around 140 cals. it all counts!

Gloria Jeans is soooooo naughty!!!

I used to walk past one every morning when I worked in the city and MAN it was tempting. Then I looked up some of the drinks in my WW points guide.

EG:

Hot Chocolate - Large - 8 points.
Iced Chocolate - 16 points.

I am on 21 points per day so if I had an iced chocolate thats like 3/4 of my daily intake!!

emmaline - they were for regular sized ones (not small). that's pretty good in my opinion if you can fit it into your cals, don't feel bad about it it was a good choice :)
