Wholemeal Pasta

Postby emmaline » Wed Feb 13, 2008 3:56 pm

Hey guys!
I'm a pasta freak and didn't know how I'd go with wholemeal pasta
But I made up a massive batch with a tomato based sauce, some zuchini and capsicum and it was delicious!
It's texture is a little different, but i think it would just take some getting used to.

At first I was still hungry after a decent portion... but 3 hrs later I'm not!
Gotta love a lunch that actually keeps me full - doesn't happen very often.

Sorry if there was already a post on this, but I couldn't find anything and just wanted to recommend it!

I love wholemeal pasta! I just wish it were available in a greater variety of pasta shapes. I made minestrone soup last week and had to use big spirals because they didn't have any wholemeal risoni or wee little tubes. And I've never seen it in lasagne sheets in my local supermarket either. Hopefully it'll gain popularity so they'll start bringing out more varieties.

I love it too!!

However I have tried the lasagna sheets and I actually prefer the white pasta for this. reason being is the white pasta tends to soak up more of the moisture. when I used wholemeal lasagna sheets my lasagna was a bit watery.
