Fruits day

Postby katerina » Fri Feb 29, 2008 9:59 am

I wonder if one day every 2 weeks, it is healthy to eat only fruits.
I want to include a fruits day in my diet and I don't know how healthy it is to just eat fruits all day.
Not a very good english speaker, but I am tryin'

I think there would be pros and cons for a day like this.

Pros being that you're only eating raw/natural foods so this is a great thing BUT most fruit (except for things like avocado and coconut) have no fat and very little protein but are very high in carbs and a great source of fibre. So it would be hard to get a good balance.

What would be a better idea is to have a raw food day, I think this is a great way to detox! So raw fruit, vegies, nuts and things like this.
Saying goodbye to calorie counting AND scales for a while.

Just enjoying the new and improved healthy me and embracing my new lifestyle!

That sounds great. As Fiona said though, maybe a fruit and veg day so you get a combination of nutrients. Fruit (even though healthy) is full of sugar so you would need more than that for the day I believe. I would be very interested though :D
