Alternatives for wheat?

Postby whit3tig3y » Sat Jul 05, 2008 9:39 am

I'm trying to look for some suggestions of alternatives for wheat products like pasta. I do love my pasta, but I have a mild wheat intollerance so while I love it every time I eat it, my partner sleep in the same bed as me for the night

Are there any kind of noodles that are similar to pasta that I can have with say bolognese etc that don't have wheat in them or not as much?

Rice Vermiccilli contains no wheat, and you can also get wheat free pasta from Coles, Woolworths or a health food shop.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I had tried looking for gluten free pasta before, but found none. But I was looking in the pasta section. I was going through the health foods section to see if they had any yummy healthy stuff and found a HUGE range of gluten free products. I ended up getting some pasta, a teacake mix, even some instant spaghetti!!! There were so many yummy things that were gluten free, i'll have to make sure to look in the health foods section more often!!!

Excellent!I had a temporary gluten intolerance earlier this year and found loads of stuff in the supermarket. To tell you the truth, I couldn't tell the difference between the non-wheat pasta and normal pasta :P
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...
