Help. Going out for dinner...what should I choose?

Postby LittleMsStyle » Fri Jul 11, 2014 9:23 pm

Ok, so I'm going out to dinner tomorrow night with my friends...a bit of a boozy night session, so I'm already planning to limit myself to good drink choices, but what about dinner?

We're going to Jamie's Italian...yes, not my choice...italian!

Assuming I should steer away from pastas and risotto, so other than the pear salad, can anyone suggest the best options for me???

Looking at that menu I would order one of each...

I myself would probably go for the grilled chicken and ask for a 1/4 not a 1/2...That would be easy enough too do all they would have too do is cut it for you,you usualy find there only too happy too help you out, also get a side of vegies as an extra too full you up...
Looks a very nice place too go for dinner so just remember too enjoy,

Also when you order your drinks so u don't miss out, have one drink of your choice then the second round have a tall glass of water...

But as I said remember too enjoy take your time with every mouthful.

The Grilled Chicken - but don't eat the whole serve...it says that it's half a chicken so cut it in half before you begin and eat that portion only.
Things that you can do to minimalise dining out...
Eat lightly on the day (keep breakfast and lunch light...I would also have kept the dinner the night before lighter as well).
Do extra exercise on the day and plan extra exercise the day after.
Don't eat the bread rolls or have an entrée.
Eat a fruit at your regular eating time. When dining out you usually eat later...a healthy snack will take the edge of your hunger.
As soon as you get your meal divide your plate up into what is yours and what is left...and stick to it.
As soon as you have finished your portion...soil the other food by putting a paper napkin in it.
Place cutlery in finished position and move plate away from you.
    Drink plenty of water.

Best of luck! Don't worry...dining out is a skill that is learnt...the more you do it the better you get at it. 8)

Kim,
get them too cut the chicken before it even comes out....
I use too be a cook and I would have done that sort of stuff in my time,
the cooks usually really don't mind...
don't have the 1/2 chicken come out then u don't have too worry about
eating it...

what I do when we go out I stick 1/2 the meat onto my husbands
plate and I never order chips...

I might take a few chips off my husbands plate but seen as
they arnt on my plate I don't count them as my points...

Just be careful think about whats going into your mouth,
but more important is you do stuff up a little,
just try harder the next day too get
yourself back on track...

That's right!...sell the poor chap down the river!...I'm all right Jack - blow you!

Good idea about getting the cook to portion it out for you. I'm the sort of person who doesn't like to cause a fuss and bother...so I would normally just deal with it myself. But the squeaky wheel does get the oil...so worth the try Tia.

just ask and when you ask smile,
nobody can ever say no if you smile...

it works everytime for me...

and also with extras if they are like sauces
ask for them on the side, and then u only put a little on
your chicken...

honestly cooks usually don't mind...

just ask the worst they can say is NO...

and make sure you drink plenty of diet water ..
