Question about Wombok...

Postby *KaTe* » Sun May 13, 2007 2:27 pm

I am making a salad today and was suppost to use Wombok...I have never cooked with it before...so was suprised when I started to chop it up and found all these brown/black spots all through the cabbage...

I have googled it up and cant find any info about it..so was wondering if anyone knows if this is the way the cabbage is normally?

The spots wouldnt wash off, so paranoia got the better of me and Im using normal cabbage instead!

He he yeah Kate I never used to eat cabbage, but in some of the recipes i've been having lately it is beautiful! I never used to eat mushrooms either but lately have been trying different foods again, and am being pleasantly suprised how awesome they are...in recipes that is, not by themselves! :D And definately wont be buying wombok again, it freaked me out!

Also my bf bought it for me, and the next day I looked at the reciept and it was over 5 dollars! So definately normal cabbage for me!

Omg Kate my bf is the fussiest eater I've ever come across...which was annoying as but I'm over it! It's a shame when your that fussy as you miss out on some awesome tastes!!

I just had a chicken chow mein I made...it was sooooooo YUM. Will put it in the recipe section, has mushrooms, soy sauce n cabbage in it! :D

It is even better the next day. My in laws are Polish so they got me on to it - now I am hooked. MIL cooks the cabbage then drains it and cooks the bacon and butter in the same pot and once it is nicely sauted she readds the cabbage and cooks it until the butter nearly burns - IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOO YUMMMMMMMMY!
