Alcoholic Drinks

Postby loveat116 » Fri Sep 14, 2007 4:06 pm

I'm going out for a friends birthday tomorrow and was wondering what are some low calorie drinks I can have?

Im not going to lie, I like getting drunk, I probably consume 8-10 drinks when I do get drunk (havent been drunk in about 4 months).

Soooo I was thinking a spirit and diet coke?
Vodka and low calorie lemonade/soft drinks?
Vodka and orange juice?

Or are there any low calorie premixes out there?

Malibu, vodka or gin mixed with low calorie soft drink (diet coke is the safest bet). You would want to have alcoholic drinks with low or no carbohydrates.

It's tough drinking... mainly because alcohol stimulates the appetite - which can often lead to overeating.

I hope you have a great night! Have a drink for me!!!

Try stick to the clear alcohols. Like vodka and baccardi they are better for you... And mixing with normal soft drink is better than diet because the diet dehydrates you alot quicker.. Drink a glass of water between alcoholic drinks.

ditto to what lauren said. dont have the vodka and orange, especially if you are drinking 8-10 of them. juice has a lot of natural sugars and not too mention can go ... um... right through you (i know from experience after a night on the town with vodka and orange)

whoa! drinking is so bad for dieting. I had a small glass of baileys and ate about 25 handfuls of pistachio nuts before falling asleep in the middle of a censored game (I came second! Yay!).

However, I do recommend Midori mixed with vodka and pineapple juice. You may pass out before you can eat anything.

I have never had any weight gain due to drinking, when I was heavily drinking last year I stayed a constant 58kg, I know it wasnt good for me though!

I think I might go with Midori and Lemonade, with some lemon or lime slices!

midori is very high in sugar, much higher than spirits. as a general rule, liquers have heaps of sugar. white spirits are better and I always have them with diet soft drink or if its vodka, with soda water and fresh lime juice (not cordial)

vodka tastes like paint-stripper though yuck.

Alcohol has a lot of calories. Beer is literally liquid bread. I don't drink alot because I'm a cheap drunk and I don't enjoy the feeling of being intoxicated, however, I do love liqueurs mixed with other things. Banana and baileys smoothie. Yummy. Baileys Irish creme icecream. Lychee liqueur on crushed ice with strawberries.

Hey, why is p-o-k-e-r censored?

Drinking is a HUGE problem for me, in the sense that my colleagues and I like to go for a drink every Friday, and alot of my friends enjoy a good drink or ten of a weekend.

The thing is that Beer is the cheapest drink available at bars, and I usually find myself spending $200+ a weekend, I can only imagine what its like drinking spirits constantly. Perhaps I should pace myself more when I go out - but that's another battle altogether hehe.

If I'm making the right decisions for myself I will drink only Voka/soda water (and a lemon piece) in a TALL glass:

1 - It's strong so you'll drink it slower
2 - It's vile so you'll be reluctant to buy another :P

And as someone here has already said, water between drinks is ESSENTIAL because if you dehydrate yourself you'll get hungry, and when you get hungry the first thing you're going to do when you get home is order a greasy Chinese takeaway for 10

a shot of vodka is 61 cals and 41% alcohol, a shot of midori is 80 but only 20% alcohol, so youde need twice as many if u wanted to get drunk!
i like vodka with sugarfree red creaming soda or lift
another yummy one is making vodka lemon lime and bitters with sugar free lemonade and low joule lime juice :)
