IM SOOO CONFUSED

Postby BusyMum » Tue Sep 18, 2007 3:57 pm

OK. I need some help!!!

I am so confused. I have a habbit (which is probably bad) of weighing myself daily. This morning I weighed 300gms more than yesterday. And yesterday I thought I ate great. AND i done 1.5hrs walking. So I jumped back on the calorie king website (havent been on there for a while) to see exactly how many cals I had yesterday. I am recommended to have 1640cals per day. Yesterday I only had 637

Just to give you some idea, I had cereal and milk for breakfast, a fruit smoothie for lunch, chicken stir-fry for dinner, and for snacks i had rice crackers and salsa, a can of diet coke, and i had a weight watchers dessert after dinner

Now I have read that this is just as bad as eating too many calories in the day. But what else can I add to my diet so that I wont feel like I am cheating or eating too much?? I havent felt hungry at all and I thought I was doin good. But now I am just too confused  :?:

That doesnt sound like 637 calories to me. Sound more than that, are you sure the calorie information is correct?

Getting calories up is easy for me, cause I looooove food. How about having a bigger breakfast and lunch. A fruit smoothie doesnt really sound like enough.

I just went back and checked. I actually ate 1027cals. Then it took some off at the end for my exercise (390). So that made it 637. Still not enough anyway.

Oh ok. I wouldnt count net calories (calories in minus calories burnt), but it cant hurt not to.

Make sure your eating 1200 calories + a day, or your body could go into starvation mode and hold onto your fat.

Arent you hungry?

Wow i'd love to have your willpower.

I take in 1400-1500 calories a day, and im only 57kg or so, and I am STARVING all the time!

Maybe its a psychological thing...

For me cals vary heaps day to day... some days I can have 1000 other days more like 2000  ... today's looking like a 1000 day but that's just cause I'm sick.

I also don't count exercise in the amount of cals I have (I don't eat more/less on 5 gym days then 2 non-gym days)... I just eat when I'm hungry.

i've found in the past that if i ate a lot of calories one day it wouldn't show the next day on the scales but the day after. so two days after i ate more than i was meant to.

remember though that it could simply be fluid - rice crackers can be quite high in salt.

there's not a lot of protein listed in your diet yesterday - would that be a typical day for you?

do you drink much water?
