Angela's 12 Week Challenge

It really is time to knuckle down on things, so starting tomorrow, ill be on a 12 week challenge. I would like to be in the mid to low 70's and a size 12-14 by the end of it. I will do my weight and measurements tomorrow morning and will re-do them every 4 weeks.

My daily goals:

1500 calories per day
Get up at 6am and do 10 mins of crunches/lunges before getting in the shower (will mean setting my alarm for 5.50am so i can hit snooze a couple of times)
2L of water per day (have been a bit slack in this department).
Cook healthy dinners. I mainly use the CSIRO book 2 and like the ones on calorie king.

Weekly goals:
Go to the gym 4 times per week, more if im motivated, but at least 4.
will add anymore as i think of it

My body goals:

tone my thighs and bum and decrease the cottage cheese look
tone my stomach and waste
Increase my workout level on the stepper to 13 by the end of 12 weeks (currently level 9 with a view to go to 10 very soon)
Increase my workout level on the x-trainer to 9 or 10 by the end of 12 weeks (currently level 6). All my work outs are done on the interval program.

Starting Stats:

Weight: 86kg
Neck: 37cm
Bust: 105cm
Waist: 89cm
hips: 107cm
bum: 111cm
Left arm: 33.5cm
Right arm: 32.5cm
Left thigh: 67.5cm
Right thigh: 68.5cm

I realised that these measurements are approximately 10cm more (per measurement, except for arms, maybe 5cm) then they were 3 years ago when i was around 75kg. So if i can get to the measurements that i was then, by the end of 12 weeks, i would be stoked.

So far so good. Have been to the gym the last 2 days. Might take tonight off as i have some forms that i have to get filled out etc. Kept on track with my food yesterday 1391 calories :)

The last 2 days at the gym i have been doing the Couch to 5km program. Yesterday was a lot easier then Friday and im quite enjoying it :)

GOODLUCK for ur challenge, im sure u'll do great, uve got ur measurements etc to help keep u on track, once again goodluck. p.s gotta love the c25k plan, one day ill start it and finish it with flying colours.

Thanks, I am finding it a lot easier to do on a treadmill rather then on the street.

i find i have more motivation at home as im to worried outside of people seeing me, what speed do u do urs at? o guess what, ive decided tonight that tommorow ill start the c25k again, what wk r u on?

Im on week 1, up to workout 3 (i only started on friday). Im currently doing walking at 5.7km and the jogging at 7.7km.

im walking at 4.5km/hr and light jog at 5.5km/hr i die trying to go any faster, i think i need better shoes or to warm up more as my calfs kill me, goodluck.

I haven't been doing the C25km for the last week as i stuffed my knees up :( so i took a few days off last week.

I was pondering some goal measurements last night and came up with:

Neck: unsure
Bust: 85-90cm (10-15cm to loose)
Waist: 72cm (17cm to loose)
hips: 90cm (17cm to loose)
bum: 95cm (16cm to loose)
Left arm: unsure
Right arm: unsure
Left thigh: 50cm (17.5cm to loose)
Right thigh: 50cm (18.5cm to loose)

Have my first 4 week check in this week - i know i have lost some cm. Dont know whether i should weight as my scales are crap and i dont want to obsess over scales. I would like to get some decent ones, but they will have to wait for a while.

Went to the gym on Friday and Sunday and did 30 mins on level 5 hill program on the x-trainer - just about killed myself!! Yesterday i also did the upper body weights and stomach crunches plus some leg lift things. Thinking i might grab some ankle weights this week for my crunches and leg stuff as i do my stomach exercises by lifting my legs up rather then the upper body.

The knees still niggle a bit, but mostly when i sit in one position for to long.

Will be aiming for Monday, Tuesday and Friday at the gym this week. I remembered this morning that i have 2 xmas parties this week on wednesday and thursday.

Check in 2 is coming up in 2 days and it doesnt appear that i have lost anymore cm this month which is a shame, but to be honest i have been a bit lazy with holidays etc. I went onto a weightloss forum yesterday that i used to go on years ago and found measurements from just over 3 years ago. This is was my first goal measurements were (actually they are 3 years previous to my 1st check in):

12 December 2005
Left arm: 29 (2cm)
Right arm: 29 (2cm)
Left thigh: 61 (4cm)
Right thigh: 61 (5cm)
Bust: 96 (6cm)
Waist: 80cm (4cm)
Hips: 98.5 (6.5cm)
Bum: 100 (8cm)

At these measurements i was around 76.5kg. The number in brackets is the amount that i need to work off to get back down to those amounts. Hopefully i can still make it by 7 Feb.

We got a wii and wii fit for xmas which i have been getting stuck into. It is a great motivation as i hate doing squats and lunges so the sexy computerised pommy trainer keeps me motivated. I did 32 mins of various stuff last night on the wii fit (yoga, muscle training and step class) then 13 mins of boxing on wii sports...OMG that is a workout! I have previously done a boxing class at my old gym a few times and i reckon once you take out the warm up and cool down and take half the remaining time out (for when your the pad person not doing anything), 15-20mins of wii boxing would nearly be the same as a boxing class. My arm and back muscles are very sore today!

Off to the gym tonight. The kitchen was cleaned and dinner for tonight cooked last night so i have plenty of gym time this evening.
