Okay....the first challenge complete!! ....I actually found this thread!!!

Been thinking about this challenge (the real one I mean, not finding the thread) all week. Hoping it will be the kick in the ar5e I need

I will repost my goals -

Drink at least 1 litre of water a day
No trans fats (or only trace elements thereof)
Only low GI carbs
Record eating/exercise on calorie king (sticking to their RDIs)
At least 20 mins purposeful exercise a day
I would like to add two new ones....NO coke zero, or other diet cola/caffeinated drinks!! And, strictly limited flour products (will work out this more as I go along)

As for starting weight, it is really hard to pinpoint at the moment as I am retaining SO much fluid with the humidity down here in Melbourne. My legs have been absolutely aching in the mornings :( So while I think my "true" weight is about 108 - 108.5kg, in the past two days my scales have peaked at 110.5kg. There is no way I could have put on two kilos in two days so I am thinking I should just say 108.5kg and be done with it....(opinions welcome)

One small thing I am slightly worried about also is that on Australia Day or thereabouts I am starting my first IVF cycle which requires daily injections of some pretty full-on hormonal stimulants, etc. These can have side effects including bloating, fluid retention, weight gain, etc. Worse case scenario is that I may not see the results I want to see on the scales as quickly as I would like. If I become a pain in the proverbial (also a side effect lol) and complain that my 12 week challenge regime isnt working and therefore not worth doing, please remind me that there are other benefits than the results on the scales. Thank you muchly :D

Anyway, really looking forward to getting to know everyone else who is making this journey alongside me!

take care

Okay,

Ready to begin this odyssey into the beyond. :) A pit poetic, but accurate. Because none of use know where we will end up.

I have a weigh-in on Monday :? at the chemist so once that happens I will update my ticker, and post here and off we shall go. I like this challenge idea as it gets different people together to support one another, and to encourage and congratulate each other on our losses. I never had that in the past. Just a skinny person saying I could do better.

So here I am and here I will stay. I will be aiming to lose 1 kilo per week, but even if I only lose 0.5 of a kilo I will be happy because a loss is a loss. Especially when losing weight is a hard as it is for me because of a couple of health conditions. I decided to repost my goals too so here they are again:

Goals, what shall my goals be? Okay:
    1. To drink 2 litres of water a day or more,
    2. Hit the gym at least 5 days per week,
    3. Cut back on the cigs,
    4. No soft drinks (diet or otherwise),
    5. To lose around... 1 kilo a week,
    6. to shrink to a size 16-18 (currently a 20)
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 17th when we get down to business.

Starting weight of 117.4kgs.... wahoo let the fun begin... Pay day is Thursday so im going to get a membership to the local gym... Although i may not actually set foot in the actual gym, I will be swimming 3-4 mornings a week :) Plus I live at the bottom of a hill, so im hoping that walking may help too (that is on days where its not 37 degrees plus)...

Okay;

Let the work begin. Starting Weight: 104.1kg. :( Goal weight: 92.1kg. :) A loss of 1 (or more) kilos per week and I will be turning cartwheels in the street.

I will be attending the gym 6 days per week and sticking to my diet like glue. My starting weight is actually lower than I anticipated so I am a winner already. :D

See ya next week. or maybe even sooner. Who knows what might happen?

Hi everyone. I already posted on the other thread for the challenge (the sign up one) but figured i'd write here too.

Starting weight is 109.7, and i have a massive goal weight to achieve of 90kg. Tough one i'm starting to think, i almost even upped it to 95kg, based on fear factor alone. But then, thats giving up already.

My other goals are to stick to what i'm doing food wise, it actually seems to be working. But my major challenge is to get the exercise kickstarted. I absolutely hate it, but i'm going to aim to walk the dog 3 times a week, and with a bit of lucking bidding i'll have an exercise bike by the end of the week (there is an auction, including exercise equipment right next door to my work this week, i think it's a sign!), so i want to use that for at least a half an hour every day. And i need to drink more water!

Good luck everyone! :D

completely up to you, most people just include their weekly weights and an update of their progress but others have elaborated on what they've eaten, how often they have excercised etc so feel free to just express yourself in whatever way will best motivate you, good luck..

So my starting weight was 85.8kg and I'm aiming for 70kg which is a loss of 1.25kg per week. This time around I'm trying set realistic goals (not 4kg a week, I can do it for a few weeks then I tend to fall off the wagon because I'm being too strict).

Goals:
Walk 6 days per week (7 if I'm not hungover on Saturday :P)
Run 3 days per week- I want to be able to run the 12km city to surf in August. Without stopping.
Use the home gym 4 days per week
Loose 1.25 kg per week (or more!!)
Not get lazy when uni starts again
... I think that's all so far, I'm sure I will come up with more :D

Since Monday I've walked every day, run once and used the gym once. I've also managed to lose 1.4kg. WIN :D hopefully by next Monday I will get that up to 2 or 2.5.

Hey guys,

Week 1! So glad I started this challenge cause I have actually become more mindful of things.

Im drinking a sh!t load more water! and have already dropped 1/2 kilo. I have been having... bowel movements alot so I think all the water is cleaning out my system.

I have a lap band and its too tight at the moment so im getting it loosened a bit tomorrow which will help stop the plateau Im having at the moment.

Im so excited about this challenge!

I have actually started going back to the gym, going again tonight and then again tomorrow. Going to do some exercise with my boy on saturday before the engagement party and then again on Sunday before I sit down and do a censored load of study and my exam.

I have my sisters engagement party on this weekend so i will get a photo taken of me there and then since my engagement party was last year at around the same time in january, I will do a before and after for you all. Im around 38 Kilos down but the photo taken at the engagement party was me down already about 10 kilos. Hope this will give me a bit of motivation and may prove as motivation for you guys too.

Ive been having these Green Seas Tuna Cups for lunch every day. They are Awesome! they have like 290 calories, arnt high in salt and have fish... good for the brain.

Also as a tip, I have been taking 2x 1.5ltr bottles of water to work in a eskie bag and putting that next to my desk so if Im lazy... I can still grab some water...

Heres a question - What kinds of fruit do you guys add to your water? I know the standard is lemon... but Im thinking that you could also add any kinda citrusie fruit like: Lime, Orange, Grapefruit, blood orange. What do you guys think? worth a trip to the fruit market to experiment?

keep up the good work everyone!

Drink lots of water!
-Lynette
