ulcers

Postby kate_turner2000 » Thu May 24, 2007 6:06 pm

hey guys i have a massive ulcer on my gum and i cannot talk as it hurts so bad. i have been rinsing my mouth out with warm salty water. i have done this in the past and it has cleared it up. this time its not working. it looks to be getting worse. i cant talk and when i eat it hurts. anyone have any home remedies they use to help ulcers. i am so run down at the moment my skin is breaking out and i keep hurting myself.
1. half my pinkie is missing from using the scissors to cut the edges of the grass yesterday. its all puss!

2. dropped the bottom bathroom drawer on my toe this morning when i pulled it out too far getting the hair dryer out

3. didnt lift my leg high enough over the child gate we have in the hallway and tripped over it making a big long scratch down the wall as the gate came down with me

Ohhh your poor thing Kate - you sound like you are well and truly in the wars. Can symphasis with you over the ulcer because I have one at the moment and it hurts that much that it is giving me a headache. As far as remedies goes - you are doing the right thing with the salt water - but if that is not helping then maybe you need a trip to the chemist. I got some stuff called S28 (it is in a green tube) which is really good - it numbs the area. Just think that if you cannot eat then you will not put on any weight!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about your pussy pinky - that is horrible

wow, sounds like you are having one of those weeks! I always was told to put bicarb on mouth ulcers. Don't know if it worked or whether it was one of those old wive's tales. You could try honey (good on external ulcers), but in your mouth I don't think it would last long enough as a dressing

Sounds as though your immune system is low though (ulcers, infections). Lots of garlic, ecchinacea and rest for you, plus keep up your water. If it doesn't start to clear up, go see a doctor.

aw Kate, sounds like you're having a bad coupla days :(

I used to get heaps of ulcers in high school when I was run down. I used to put a dollop of vegemite on them too. that really hurts for about 10 seconds but then it would go numb.

Other than that, no advice, just sympathy! Take care of yourself.
Just keep moving! And don't be lazy...

sounds like it's time to introduce the sleeping lions game. Or the lets rub mummy's head better while she rests on the couch game. Or the quiet cuddles game.
