Pins and needles

Postby HappyBella55 » Tue Aug 28, 2007 10:02 pm

Hi guys,

I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I've been having pins and needles on my left had all day and a numbing sensation along my arm. Has anyone experienced this before?

Can be because I've cut out all salt from diet or stress related?

are you left or right handed? do you do something regularly with your left hand/arm that could be putting pressure on your nerves or veins?

A very long shot unless you have other symptoms may be something to do with your heart as that's usually on your left.

Mandie any ideas??

that's kinda what I was thinking Kate, more so if you are left handed and use that hand a lot

have a look here http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/carp ... tunnel.htm

But it may also be if you have been say constantly carrying a heavy handbag or something that you've damaged a nerve that way. I had a numb thumb for months after making a scrapbook for my sister due to using scissors. My dad tells a story of having had numb fingers for years after working in a brick factory when they twirled the bricks on their fingers all day.

Thanks guys for your replies.

Hmmm I'm right handed and haven't put any pressure on my left arm, apart from everyday usage.

I've still got the tingly sensation and the shooting pains. I've made an appoint with my doc but can't get in to see her till friday .

Thanks for the link Butterfly_Dawn, I had a quick squiz but this has come on suddenly hmmm...hoping it's nothing to major.

I went to the docs yesterday and I found out that the pins and needles may be related to my thyroids. I have to go get a blood test done  I HATE needles

wow, I wouldn't have predicted that. I hope all is well! I hate needles too. Just think of a happy place, fluffy kittens and stuff and it will be over before you know it.
