Nail polish

Postby dietcoke » Sat Sep 01, 2007 11:33 am

I'm OBSESSED with painting my nails. I'll paint them about twice a week and can't STAND having chipped nails.

Does anyone know of a good base coat that wont chip or peel? I use O.P.I colours but they're really expensive. Is it worth buying an O.P.I base coat or does someone have a secret weapon in the fight against chipped nails?

Nothing beats OPI. I only use their nailpolish.

Sorry I would't have a clue, I haven't painted my nail in year's. But the answer to your question is it wouldn't hurt to buy the opi base coat if you already put the polish on, it would save you time in painting then twice a week mabe.

I don't paint my nails.
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

i quite sally hansen - i choose what sort of base depending on how my nails are.

david jones used to do pretty good nailpolish - i always used to use their base coat & a pink (like the pink you get in a french polish) but the last ones i bought went a bit gluggy. not sure if i was just unlucky (heat or something maybe?) or whether they've gone off.

opi for colour though. love em! creative isn't bad for colours also.

Ooh good suggestions. Will look into all of them.

Nothing worse than gluggy nail polish. I keep mine in the fridge to keep them smoother for months longer.
