Stretchmarks

Postby Angel » Wed Jan 11, 2006 9:36 pm

Anyone out there know if there's anything you can do to get rid or fade stretchmarks, the white kind?

I was hoping I wouldn't get stretchmarks until I had kids but I have white stretchmarks on my hips  - yo-yo dieting is nasty! They've been there a while but I hate them. I thought of getting a fake tan but I think that'll make them more prominent.

Has anyone used Bio-Oil or Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula? Does it work?

Any tips for fading them would be greatly appreciated.

dont think there is.i know they did get a few ladies to try different creams that claimed to tighten the skin but none of them showed any visable cures.i call mine a jelly belly and when i was skinny it just looked worse.only suggestion is a tummy tuck which i would have in an intant if i had the money.maybe heaps of sit ups each day.i hate sit ups but if i knew it worked for my jelly belly i would do it.good luck!

if they are only a few stretch marks u can try vitamin e capsules and break open with a pin and rub it on.if there are a lot and u hate them heaps like me a tummy tuck will cut then out.in other places of the body try cocoa butter.although they do say it is for use before u get stretchmarks.i only thought of the vitamin e cream b4 cause i got rid of a scar with it.

Unfortunately I didn't have any luck finding Trilastin so I'm still looking for a solution.

Slimming & Health's March Issue has an article about stretchmarks and out of 6 products trialled, Bio Oil got the best score. It didn't get rid of them but it did fade them. It only costs $14.95 so I think I'll give it a go. They also talked about an electro-stimulation treatment that cost $250, it reduced them by 50%. Sounds like you can never get rid of them, you can only fade them.

As for your post baby belly, I don't have kids, but if you're a gym member, I'd ask one of the trainers or if you're part of a mothers group, perhaps ask the other mothers what they did. Maybe even ask the health sister when your baby goes for its check-up, I'm sure she's bound to know the answer.

Sorry I can't be more help,
Angel

Hi Angel you might be able to order it through the post
of course those would be american dollars they are talking about so you would need to convert it to aussie dollars - http://www.x-rates.com/calculator.html $69.95 US dollars is around $96 aussie dollars (much too high to pay and thats without the postage) we must have something just as good in our stores surely.

Thanks Dolly, you are right, its way too expensive for me.

I think I'll give Bio Oil a go, for $14.95 it can't hurt. If that doesn't work I'll ask the chemist for their recommendation.

Cheers,
Angel

HHHHHHHMMMMM the dreaded jelly belly!!!! My partner calls it my bread dough.......hahaha! You can knead it just like bread dough!!!! Other than surgical, I really don't think there is anything more you can do. It's mainly skin with a bit of fat, but once the fat is gone then it's just skin and you cant make skin disappear. I heard that one of the ways you can get a tummy tuck is that they stretch your skin upwards at your belly button and cut it off and then give you another belly button....so you could have an inny if you have an outty or vice versa........hahaha. As for the stretch marks.......geez I wish you could say 1,2,3 disappear!!! I have heaps from pregnancy. I put on 20kgs when pregnant with my son and even my bum has them!!!

Have used a lot of products in the market creams ,lotions , vitamine E and gels but did not help much . Laser surgery is way too expensive for me . I am using the naturalis stretchmark treatment cream that my sis has recommended . Been using for over 6 weeks and it's been working great !The silvery white ones on my thighs and hips has improved significantly, marks are fading away and some are almost gone. The butt areas is noticeably lighter in shades as well!! The texture of my skin is lots firmer, smoother and softer looking. LOL You can find out more from this link http://www.organiconline.com.sg/npstretchmark.htm :D

Hey,

im interested in getting rid of the baby belly jelly belly...

i dont think its impossible as i have friends who have had babies and have nice flat tummies again. I think if you loose the fat, and exercise like hell it can be done.

My cousin has 3 kids and her belly is like a celeb post baby belly.... so tight and flat and she got huge when pregnant.
