In the interests of your health, check out the link below.

In case anyone isn't aware, there is a vaccine for HPV which is a major cause of cervical cancer. It involved 3 injections. Guys, if you're reading, you can also pass this on to your mothers sisters aunts, girlfriends, wives....

I've had the first injection.

It hurt  but I got a starburst lolly!

Its free for anyone aged 18-26, and I am pretty sure high school females get it done aswell.

Great thing to talk about.

I must get it too... But I am so afraid of needles!

I'll just have to face my fear.

i got mine done last month. i got back in october for my next one. :) im a good girl hehe. needles dont bother me- when you are pregnant and in labour you get jabbed so many times! however i found my arm was 'dead' for a day or two afterwards. they also told me that they have brought in that you have to wait 10 mins at the dr's after its done incase you have a reaction (remember those school girls who had the reaction? thats why) but i went next door to the dr's to the hairdresser and had my hair cut instead :P

I know me neither! How depressing.

Apparently the second shot hurts more than the first... uh oh :?

Don't listen to people who tell you the second hurts more...if you believe it - it will.

I didn't get a lolly either. That's it! My Dr's getting a stern talking to.

I didn't think it hurt at all but then I don't mind needles.

my second one didn't hurt at all, but the nurse made a big deal out of the research into the pain reduction measures. Maybe I just hadn't been told it should hurt?? Either way, I'm good

You should still get it done if you have had precancerous cells. The vaccine is against the 4 most common strains of herpes virus that can lead to pre-cancerous changes. There are other strains that are not yet covered by the vaccine, so it is not 100% effective. Your precancerous cells may have been from one of the other strains anyway.......

If anyone has specific Q I would be happy to answer....

The main idea is that you have the vcaccine before you have too many sexual partners (who may expose you to more strains of herpes virus).
