I got my first shot a couple of weeks back and got no lolly :(
This time 12 months ago i was diagnosed with high grade cervical changes which is 1 off having cancer. It went from normal to off the chart in 18 months which shocked the hell out of me.
I had a biopsy in Dec last year and the went onto having a LLETZ procedure which cut out a chunk of my cervix about the size of a 10cent piece but 5 or so cms thick. And from there i had heaps of problems like excessive bleeding and stuff. 7 weeks ago I found out i was pregnant and had to have a termination due to my cervix not being strong enough to hold the baby. My doctor said i would have lost it about 16 weeks or so.
The shots are great news for women everywhere but dont forget to have regular papsmears.

Yeh im only 22 and found out when i was 21. I didnt have any changes that made me think i had a problem either. But i got the all clear 2 months ago about 3 dayd before i found out i was pregnant. I started going to the gym and watching moe closely wat i ate after the doctor told me that wieght was an issue in recovery and so is smoking. I have smear tests every 6 months now.

I'm glad to see everyone sharing important info like this!

I had mine done ages ago, I'm due for the second soon.

I feel ripped off about lollies too, my son got mine.

Just a note: you are more likely to have a reaction to the second one! This is because your body already has the virus in it and has created antibodies for it.

Its way better to have the needle and a lolly than to have half of your cervix cut out!!!

When i went for my 6wk check up after having my first baby i caught out when i seen a different doctor and he asked if i had one and if he hadnt of asked then i still wouldnt of had one, i then got a call 6wks later to say it was abnormal and they sent a sample away and it came back that it was in stage 2 heading straight for stage 3 but fell pregnant so they couldnt do anything about it.
so after i had my second bub i went in for surgery but didnt have any after problems and neither did my sister but ive only just had a follow up check up as after the surgery fell pregnant befor my 6month check up hehe but all is good. I guess it was fate to have a different doctor that day.
