My experiment with weight loss.

Postby Blobber » Sun Nov 25, 2007 11:32 pm

Is it possible for someone that has never been slim or very fit to in their late 30's get a body like Jean-Claude Van Damme. I'm doing this experiment and will keep everyone posted as to my progress. I have taken the before shots and will be taking photos as I go and some after shots. I mainly decided to do this experiment to show that there are no quick fixes for weight loss. I'm sick of seeing people promoting products and weight loss plans that promise "quick fixes" and permanent weight loss that only rip people off.
I basically went initially with the meal replacement for 8 weeks, then a healthy diet protein and fibre. in addition I started to do regular exercise at least 4-6/week.
So far I have gone from 120kg to 92kg.

That is awsome! I wish I had kept a photo record from the beginning...I started at 125kg and am currently at 83.5 and I can't physically see a difference...but still working on it!

Hi great loss so far... I don't know how serious you are or what you are exactly trying to achieve but would think you'd need to do a lot more exercise than 4-6 times a week if you wanted to mould your body to anything close to that of Jean-Claude Van Damme. Also you'd need to concentrate on getting your percentage body fat down to under 10% as well. Its not just about losing weight.

Heres a link I found... its on a bodybuilders forum and might have some real useful info for you

I'm just wanting to get fitter myself... am basically lazy so I don't want to start anything I know I'll have no intention of pursuing... therefore gym works out for me... i'll stick to walking the dog..
