Moomoo's new life

Postby Moomoo » Thu Mar 27, 2008 4:28 pm

Sometimes I want to write a post but don't have any thing to say that fits in with any current posts and after reading everyones story I've been inspired to add my own, so here we go, try not to fall asleep!

I was born and bred in the South East of the UK and moved to Perth 2 years ago. Moving straight out of the family home to a house with my man on the other side of the world
Leaving all my friends and family behind has been one of the hardest thing I have ever done but it was either that of loose the love of my life - Very hard descision either way!
Before my Fiance and I got together he had already decided to move here so I knew what I was getting into before it started, it was never meant to be serious! He moved out here in September 2005 and I followed in March 2006 I'm now getting married in September this year (In England with all my family and Friends!) and am SO happy! all worked out well in the end! :D :D :D

Onto my weight...I have been "big" since being at school but now when I look at those photos I wish I was that size again! I managed to lose weight in 2005/6 (about 12.5kg) for a breast reduction operation (having an actual goal really helped me) but after the op I just sat around and ate because I was bored at home and then over compensated on the nights out Eating & Socialising with friends when I got better!

Living the good life with my Fiance, cosy nights in with takeaway/Pizza/bottle of wine/beer I have ballooned out to more than my last heaviest weight  so ... Here I am!

Must stop rambling on! Here's to a healthy lifestyle, a new start and looking beautiful in my wedding dress!

You can wake up now!

Went to bed excited and woke up this morning more excited. I'm sneakily been weighing myself during the week (every day!) I knew that I had lost but the weight doesn't count unless it is a Friday morning! "official" weigh in day
Jumped on the scales this morning and couldn't believe my eyes 2.2 kg loss! Yippeee!
I keep telling anyone who will listen
That should keep me motivated for a while! :D

I bought myself some dumbells this weekend - got a great deal in K mart, 4 x 1.2kg weights 4 x 2.5kg weights plus the bars for $44.99
Rebel sport sell them for $79.99 and they look the same! Luckily they where cheaper in K mart and then had 15% off too
I intend on trying them tonight! will let you know how it goes...

Had a busy Sunday cooking lots of healthy meals - I keep looking at my Weight Watchers receipe books and never doing any of them so I got motivated and cooked:
Honey Chicken - WW
Thai Style Chilli Beef - WW
Pork and pepper Stiryfry - WW
Meatballs in tomato sauce and Chicken Thai Green curry - Not WW but counted the points and cut down on the KJ various ways
Each one is 4 servings so that will keep my Fiance and I going for a few weeks! My freezer is packed, no space for frozen pizza's or cheese cakes :D
Excellent for rushing home from work Microwaving a nice home cooked meal then off out / doing chores or something, or even if you are just too tired after a hard day at work No cooking!

Perfect!

I made some mini muffins and a Quiche and some burgers a few weeks ago They are all in the freezer too I take them out for lunches! lets hope the freezer doesn't break!
Another reason that I do it is because I'm so hungry when I get home from work. I start cooking and pick at the ingredients until I've finished cooking or get something to snack on while I'm cooking. This doesn't happen anymore.

I've sorted out my days at work Packed lunch and I have a drawer full of low fat snacks, a couple of cans of ww soup etc This means that I don't have to go near the canteen/vending machine.
I'm now sorted at dinner times - Frozen meals

Need to think of solutions to these weak times of day, Have you got any?

I get the munchies about 7.30/8pm and fancy a glass of wine and chips/nuts or anything I can lay my hands on!
and
Weekends - I really struggle with weekends as I have no routine, If I'm bored I want to snack, if I have 5 mins spare I want to snack, If I go shopping and smell nice foods I want to buy some!

Any ideas appreciated !

Hi Moomoo

I have a little tip for the mid-evening craving - instead of the wine and snacks, make your supper a cup of decaf coffee/milo (made on water) or a really fabulous herbal/fruit tea. Make an occasion of it (use a really nice cup) and sit and enjoy it. I'm the same - I eat dinner around 7.30 and by 8.30/9.00pm I'm looking for something else, but I find I can be satisfied with a decaf sweetened with an equal (I'm nearly always after something sweet).

Wine is a difficult thing to go past, but I know I've lost more weight because I've cut out my nightly glass of red (I do have a bit occasionally on the weekend but I've gotten out of the weeknight habit). My husband does the same (he's not dieting though) - he only has beer on the weekends, and because I'm not drinking during the week at the moment, he's not either.

You're doing very well - keep up the good work!

Cheers, Lisa :D

My original rule with alcohol was Friday nights only, but this has slipped into Friday & Saturday and last week Friday Sat and Sunday!
I need to drag it back into check before I ruin it all.
Just finding it REALLY hard at the moment, I think the "putting on" weight lat ast weeks weigh in hasn't helped my confidence at all.
I'll try your hot drink theory though and will let you know....
Oh and my Dumbells are great! all be it that they are nearly 5kgs each with the lightest weight on them!

Last week I managed a whole bottle of wine Friday night  1 glass on Sat night and went without the wine on Sunday which is a lot better than normal!
Today I have been thinking about my mini goals, I had 2 and am Extremley close to acheving both of them so I thought I'd better think of some more!
Total loss to date is: 9.7kg and my weight 15st 1lb
My first goal is to loss 10kg's so am 300g away!
My second goal was to get under 15st so am 1 lb away (500g)

My new goals are:
14st 6lb / 91.6kg - This is a goal because this was my lowest weight I got to last time I did the diet (May 2005) and it'll be a total loss of 2stone!
13st 13lb / 88.5kg - I have not broken this barrier since about 1999!
13st 7lb / 85.7kg - This is what I weighed when I went to Spain in 1998 When I was 18 years old (I thought I was REALLY fat then! )
That should keep me going for a little while!

Have a great weekend all! Don't eat/drink too much!

That's excellent. I intend on doing that myself when I have time on the weekend. Lucky I don't find cooking a chore and find it relaxing. Its my time to wind down from a busy day so I don't mind coming home and cooking a meal for me and the boy.

Your so close to your first goal and second goal. Are you going to reward yourself for reaching your goals?
Start weight - 77kgs
Goal weight - 53kgs
Current Weight - 50.1kgs

No more weighing, no more scales. My measurement is my success at health. It's an investment I make every single day. My priority: be healthy!
