Calorie King: Don't Go There!

Postby SarahC » Sat Jul 22, 2006 7:26 pm

If anyone is thinking of joining CalorieKing.com.au, I would highly recommend that you don't!

Reason being, I had a very bad experience. I found some of the people on there to be really cruel and unsupportive. Amongst other things, they had a go at me because I want to lose just 5kgs (I'm 54kgs at the moment). I felt VERY unwelcome there! So much so that I spent the majority of that weekend in tears and couldn't really do any of the things I had planned.

Even the "support staff" were horrible! You can't reply to any messages they send you. You have to submit another "support ticket" through the website every time, and explain yourself all over again. Very frustrating! And there's no phone number listed on the website.

Thankfully I was able to get my money back as they have a 7 day money back guarantee.... the only good thing about the experience!!!

Well from what I've seen, people here are pretty laid back and very supportive.

I just want to lose another 4kg myself, so you're not alone.

Should have mentioned this earlier... it was just the forum that I had the bad experience with. The rest of the site is pretty good, with heaps of useful info :)

I've joined CalorieKing, its free now, and I find it fantastic

The support I get from here but it is a great way to track what I am eating and ingoing vs outgoing and it is fantastic to find all the normal brands in Australia on their system.

I'm sorry to hear that you had a nasty experience Sarah. Do you have to record your height when you join? I just think that even though 54kg sounds small/slim, you have to take into consideration the height ratio. My cousin is quite a short person and when she was younger she averaged 48kg. On paper it probably looked scary but in person she looked just right for her height. More recently since she hit her 30s she sits between 52-54kg and while she looks good, you can see she's a bit curvier and I know she's a bit uncomfortable with it. LOL actually she's very pregnant at the moment so she's probably around 60-65kg now (that's a guess  ).

I think what I'm trying to say is, they may be judging you solely on the numbers on a page which is a bit unfair. Don't worry about that - we're here to support you Sarah.

HHHMMM well that sucks then cos I paid $29.95 to sign up for it a month or so ago!!! But I don't use the forum. Actually I didnt know there was a forum. All I do is add in my weight once a week and use the counter. I have the support from this forum and my exercise challenges from this forum and wwa. I'm happy. Cept if that damn site is free now!!!
