Out of complete curiosity I just joined Calorie King - (for free!) and then I tried to enter my calories, but the only choices I had were favourite cereal and a banana and a caffe latte, none of which I eat in the morning... didnt get it!
:?
So, I am very favourable of this site!....
Calorie King might be ok if you know what is in the food that you are eating, but I wouldnt have a clue what cholesterol or what iron levels are in an unpeeled apple! :?

Did you do a search for your foods Tiff??? Only on the rare occassions does it not find what I am looking for and then I have to get off my bum and go and get the product and start a custom food where I insert all the info. I must admit when I joined it up under another email address I didnt go into searching for the food. Just got to the food and exercise diary and it looked the same so assumed it was the same as what I paid for a month or so ago. So say you are having purina muesli for breaky, search purina muesli and it will come up with the different flavours. Just thinking about it you must have gone into the menu planner. I don't use that at all! You can search for different exercises as well.

Hey thanks for your kind comments guys :D I think the site is a pretty good resource, especially the calculators and articles. I still go there to find out calories of food I'm not sure of, or see if there's any good articles. I found the girls in the forum to be right little cows though, and the staff weren't that much better :x

The calorie counter book is pretty good as well if you're getting confused with the software. I tried it for a bit but found it to be a huge hassle. I find it easier to use the book and record my food diary on paper.

I actually bought the downloadable software and that is much easier to use!! The one on the site is a bit hard, but I find the downloaded version really easy to use.

I joined CK in sept, but have been a member before too.
I payed for my membership too, and now its free. Oh well.

I find it good for the food and exercise diary and i use it for weigh ins and measurements. Ihavent really used the forum except to "find a buddy" but no one ever seems to stay in contact very long?

I totally agree with ya, Sarah! The information and tools on the website are great ,but I've read the forums and the girls are just downright censored!!!

It took me a while to get used to the food/exercise diary and how it works but now I've got everything sussed out :)

Okay so I went on the CK site and put in my info.

They said I should have 1800cal per day, yet the lite'n'easy people and other books say I should have 1200cal per day or 1400 cal per day???????

I bought the CK book a while back, but haven't really used it yet.

How can I find out correctly how many calories I should have per day? Who do I believe?

1200 Cal is the minimum per day anyone should be consuming any lower than that and the body starts reacting in the opposite way....I had a look once at a "diet" that was only 1200 cal and too me it was quite extreme!! I think that I would have ended up on a bender if I had of followed it. Cal King also put my intake at 2000cal per day as believe it or not losing weight isn't about starving your body of food....it is about eating the right kind of foods.....The heavier you are the more calories your body needs in order to lose weight successfully. I hope this has been of some help to you dancer.
