Great story Donk...it has inspired me to get off my fat behind and do some walking!!! I hate exercise...but if I'm gonna keep the weight coming off then I need to do it. I think it's a mind set you get...about how boring and tedious walking is...cause after I walk each time...I feel great!!!

I still love walking, it is such a no brainer for me. Put on the shoes, get my iPod and go. :D

Yeah...I need to get an Ipod...if I could get some Robbie Williams happening I think I may be more interested in walking...although I may not be able to stop myself from singing out loud!!! :D

LOL I walked past someone doing that, singing out loud (quite loudly too) whilst having head phones on...at the time it reminded me of Kate as she said she would probably do that!

I must admit I don't enjoy working out quite so much without music.

Ah, what a great night, one of my mates didn't say anything when I first saw him, but another commented "Gee Pete, you're a shadow of your former self"... my response.... "yep" :D

OF course they all wanted to know how I did it and I was more than happy to tell. A couple of them actually said they were now inspired to do some excercise, I just love hearing that, just that I may make a difference in someone elses life.

It's quite interesting really, the guys from uni were always skinny but now they're all getting beer bellies and I'm going the other way.

HI Pete, you're photos in the other thread look great by the way - what a difference! :D I know what you mean about going the opposite way - I lost all my weight after having a baby and all the other mothers were putting it on! I am determined never to be that big ever again! Your story was very inspiring to read. Your girlfriend and family must be really proud. Good luck with reaching your goal. Keep us posted on your progress too!

Yeah, that's the only good thing I can see coming from me being big, I never want to go there again, whereas none of my mates have been there before.

And yes, everyone's calling me skinny now... or the "not so big pete" :D

If you dont mind, I'm going to show your photo's to my husband who started off at around 120kg - he got down to about 95kg but he's been stuck there for ages. He just needs that little push (towards the light and away from the fridge - no, only kidding  ) ). I think if he saw what you've achieved, he'd be inspired. He wants to get down to about 85kg. DO you mind me asking how tall you are? Do you do anything else apart from walking/running? Sorry for all the questions but all my words just dont seem to be helping him. He needs to hear it/see it from someone else.

I'm 6ft exactly (183cm) Walking is the only real exercise I do, I was doing some situps, pushups and squats for a bit, but they've fallen by the wayside.

I know what you mean on being stuck at the 95kg mark, I was there all winter last year and it was frustrating that I couldn't lose anthing, but I kept up my excercise, becuase I knew it was healthy for me anyway and eventually was rewarded when summer hit.

Wow, you dont do any weights?? You look really built. He doesnt do weights either but he's naturally pretty bulky/muscly and about 10cm shorter than you. If I didnt do weights my flab would be hanging off my arms and legs. Thankfully they're pretty firm but I've got a lot of loose skin on my tummy :( :( (sorry to gross you out) but I guess being so fat AND pregnant will stretch you out. :?
I will stick to my strict weights regimen though cos its working on all my other body parts

I used to do weights a few years ago, but the unit I'm in is too small for my bench, should be building a house soon so the gym room will be my haven :D
