Compliments

Postby Butterfly_Dawn » Mon Dec 19, 2005 4:39 pm

Just thought I'd share 2 unprompted compliments I have recieved in the last few weeks.

Yesterday the bloke came home from his 4WD trip and we had a shower (we shower together to save hot water and time) and he said to me (and I quote) "I think you look skinnier". I thought that was very nice. But the best one was from my mum, who doesn't know I've been trying to lose weight.

At my graduation she said "You look like you've lost a couple of kilos" to which I replied "Yeah, I might have done" and she said "how did you do that?" in a slightly shocked tone of voice!!

As always it's the little victories that make the journey worth while! :D

35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

"Reach out and take control of what lands in your lap"

Tegan, how exciting that you're getting those compliments. I hope I'll have that experience one day too. (if only I wasn't so weak willed)

Fantastic news Tegan.

Its great seeing the figure of the scales decrease but even better when others notice your efforts.

Don't you just love the way blokes compliment women.

You should write those compliments down somewhere soyou can look back and use them as motivation when you are having a down week...

Compliments are especially great when they come from someone who doent know you have been trying to lose weight.

Well done :)

On the topic of compliments...I was dragged up to the front of a big meeting at work this morning to be congratulated on my weight loss.I was so

Everyone seems to respect me alot more these days and its a great feeling.I am more confident and it shows. Its amazing how being overweight can effect so many areas of your life.

I feel so much better now at 30 than I ever did at 20.

Have a great weekend everybody and stay focused - never loose sight of what yo set out to achieve because If I can do this anybody can I know that sounds so corny but it is true.

believe you can do it then it will happen

It is good to have your success recognised. Now I'm getting compliments every time I see an old friend/acquaintence.

It goes
Them: "Gosh, you look like you've lost weight"
Me: "yeah a bit"
Them: "how much"
me : "about 18kg"
them: "A BIT! that's fantastic! How did you do it?"
me: "exercising more and eating better"
Them "oh, right" (disappointed)
me "I'm planning to lose another 20 or so"
them "what?! there'll be nothing of you!"

and so on
35kg lost. (November 2005 - October 2006)
15kg gained again (as at October 2010).
Back to the drawing board - Let's do this thing!

"You can't change the winds, but you can change the sails"

"Reach out and take control of what lands in your lap"

Its so like human nature what people say to you when you loose weight - its just so pedictable and boring and scripted 0 its like they are all programed to say the same thing.
