Breakfast Drinks

Postby Kareyn » Fri Jan 11, 2008 11:06 am

Does anyone have any good recipes for smoothies or breakfast drinks?

Breakfast is the meal I battle with the most. I can't face eating for about an hour when I get up, makes it hard going to work. So I usually end up skipping it and am hungry by mid morning. Bad mistake I know.

:!: New challenge for self....have breakfast!

Ki Kareyn! Good on you for starting to eat breakfast, that will help so much :D

Here's one I make very occasionally...
1 banana
1 scoop protein powder (unflavoured)
100mL low fat milk
200mL water
sweetner

It's pretty yum, heaps of vitamins, good carbs and protein too :)

I love smoothies. I make them with high calcium soy milk, blueberries and a frozen banana. I freeze the banana overnight, cutting it into pieces first. I find it makes the smoothy more ice-creamish and less slimy in texture. Just pop it all in a blender and away you go!

I make smoothies too.

banana
mixed berries (frozen pack i have in the freezer)
vanilla yoghurt
lite milk
ice
(you can add whey powder if you want too)
Chuck it all in... and blend.
I never measure anything, just chuck it in.

YUMMY!

Thank you for your replies. I have some frozen berries in the freezer so will try one tomorrow.

I think small changes are what make the biggest difference. So am determined to have breakfast every morning.

I have sustagen powder with skim milk and use a milkshake maker to thicken it. You can add banana and berries and stuff but I generally eat the fruit seperately. I battle to get through a serving of sustagen and a piece of fruit. It's incredibly filling.
