Ideas for smoothies

Postby Shalimar » Sat Sep 27, 2008 7:05 pm

Hi all, as most of you know I never ate breakfast. Well in the last week that has changed and I am now having a smoothie and a serve of prunes each morning and must admit I do enjoy it :) .

What I'm after is ideas for fruit to use in the smoothies. I have been putting strawberries in and I bought some mangoes this morning.
So for all you smoothie people out there, or even those in the know :P , what fruit do you use ??

Thanks, Sue.

Great ideas there matchbox, I love the idea of blueberries.

It's really weird about the bananas hey Pandora, as I said I love the taste but that slimy, gluggy texture gets me every time  .

A couple of years ago when I worked at a cafe, we used to have a breakfast smoothie that I loved. Was made with low fat frozen yoghurt, milk, frozen blueberries and a bit of muesli. Ordinarily I hate muesli, but in this smoothie it tasted great! Also used to mix in frozen strawberries for some customers to make it a more berryish flavour.

Thanks for that mindy, I would never have thought to mix in muesli.
Would it be ok in the fridge for a day or so as I make up enough for 2 days?
