Jelly Snakes

Postby Dolly » Mon Sep 18, 2006 11:09 am

This is great as a movie snack.

Jelly Snakes

1/2 cup hot water

1 packet diet jelly crystals

1 packet gelatine (equals 1 tablespoon)

Make jelly and then add gelatine, pour onto a dinner plate. Allow to set and then cut into thin strips like snakes.

Eat as many as you like as it has no carbs.

my cousins who work for tf told me this one and i tried it a couple of times and i wasnt too fussed on it :S it turns out like the texture and taste of gummi bears which i dont really like :S but instead of making snakes i cut the jelly into circles using a bottle lid. stuck them in a small container and can nibble on them on the lounge lol. not my fave but i know a few people who think theyre ace!!!

Hey Dolly this may sound like a silly question, but do you set them in the fridge like a normal jelly?? Or is it just room temp?

What a brilliant idea!!! Thanks Dolly.

I was going to make some jelly tomorrow for "snacks"... but I LOVE snakes.

I'm doing the WW "no count" plan... and that would be considered no points!! Yeehaa... I have a no point snack!!!

Ally... you would have to refridgerate it... otherwise the jelly & gelatine wouldn't set.

Sounds like a great treat and better than having a bowl of jelly.

Will have to try it.

Just wanted to say that a friend of mine told me about these and I tried it out, they were great :D BUT I did find that pouring it out onto a dinner plate and cutting it up was a bit awkward and messy. This time around, we poured the mixture into ice cube trays instead of onto a plate, and they were exellent! No mess, and they came out just like jubes :P
