Aussies - all purpose flavours

Would any aussies like to suggest any good all purpose seasonings, broths and herbs and spices brands that i might be familiar with ? There's such a huge range i just don't know what will go well with what i'm cooking. Could anyone suggest a few that could go great with a whole range of recipes.. soups, salmons, potatoes ? I'd like to buy a few that i'll be able to mix and match, depending on what i'm cooking up or simply depending on the mood i'm in hehe.. something that'd be impossible to go wrong with.

i buy a spice or herb each shopping. i now have garlic, chives, black peppercorns, mixed herbs, parsley, and chicken salt and thai seasoning. the chives are great with potatoes and ontop of sour cream, i put garlic in marinades and in pastas and i make my own herb bread with the mixed herbs.
