Mandarin juice can be substituted for the orange juice if desired to add a different flavour. For added decadence, add a dollop of thick cream or vanilla ice cream (low fat of course).
Ingredients
- 320g pears (approx 2 pears) peeled, halved
- 120g orange (approx one orange), juiced
- 10g orange rind
- 250g water
- 10g orange rind, extra for serving
- 30g dark chocolate
- 10g olive oil spread
Method
- Place pears in small sauce pan, cover with water and orange rind and half the orange juice.
- Cook over medium - high heat for approximately 25 minutes or until pears are tender.
- Heat small saucepan over low heat, add spread and melt, add chocolate and stir over
- low heat until combined and melted. Add the second half of the orange juice and stir well to combine.
- Place chocolate sauce on small serving plate and add pears on top, finish with orange rind and drizzle with extra sauce if desired, serve immediately.
