Yogurt and Berry Trifle Recipe

This delicious and easy to prepare Yogurt and Berry Trifle recipe is so nutritious, you can have it for breakfast, or as a healthy dessert or snack without feeling guilty.

The added benefit of including yogurt in our diet is the healthy bacteria or cultures that it contains which helps to ensure that we have the right balance of good and bad bacteria in our stomach.

This recipe is low in fat and a good source of protein.

Healthy Dessert Recipe :  Yogurt and Berry Trifle

Recipe Serves:

This Recipe Serves 2.

Recipe Ingredients:

  • 300g low fat vanilla yogurt
  • 150g blueberries
  • 50g quick oats
  • 5g low fat margarine
  • 10g honey
  • 80g passion fruit pulp

Recipe Method:

  1. Place oats, honey and margarine in pan, cook over low heat until butter and honey have melted to coat the oats. Place oats on small tray and place under medium grill and grill for 4-5 minutes or until oats are golden brown.  
  2. Using a medium glass, layer the bottom with yogurt. Drizzle over a small amount of passion fruit, then small amount of oats, top with yogurt, then with berries and repeat to fill the glass, finish with passion fruit and top with remaining oats.
  3.  Serve immediately.

Additional Comments:

This recipe looks great in a glass as the layers show through. Any type of berries can be used including raspberries or blackberries (frozen or fresh).
