Scones with Blue Cheese Topping Recipe

If enjoy the strong taste of blue cheese, you're sure to enjoy these scones with blue cheese topping.

The blue cheese combined with avocado dip or guacamole dip gives these scones a wonder texture with some bite.

As usual, we recommend you opt for reduced fat milk and dips if you're trying to limit your fat intake.

Scones with Blue Cheese Topping  Recipe

Recipe Serves:

This Recipe makes around 6 scones.

Recipe Ingredients:

    Scones
  • 125g flour
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 125ml low fat milk
  • Milk for glazing

  • Topping
  • 4 tablespoons reduced fat avocado dip or guacamole dip
  • 50g blue cheese   

Recipe Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees Celsius (approx 190 degrees fan forced). 
  2. Place flour and margarine in food processor and blend until resembles breadcrumbs. Add milk little at a time until the mixture makes a dough, using the pulse to combine the dough.
  3. Take out of food processor and knead lightly, roll out until about 2-3 cms thick.
  4. Cut out scones using scone cutter and place on greased tray, brush top with milk and bake 8-10 minutes.
  5. Take out of oven and let cool for about ½ hour. Once cooled, top with avocado dip and blue cheese.

Additional Comments:

To reduce or increase the stength of the topping flavour, adjust the ratio of blue cheese to avocado dip up or down.
