Typical Day at a Weight Loss Retreat

Have you ever wondered what exactly goes on each day at a weight loss retreat? Well here is your special insight provided by our friends at OnTrack, who describe a typical first day at their weight loss retreat.

Your First Day

Your first day at our weight loss retreat is also known as the first day of your new life.

By now you will be feeling pretty nervous and pretty excited all at the same time. You will arrive at the retreat and meet our team and other guests over a healthy breakfast.

Once we’ve got to know a bit about each new guest and why they are here, we start with weigh in and taking measurements. This is done in total privacy and we have the chance to talk to you in person about what you want to achieve while staying with us. As many people come to us with pre-existing injuries we spend some time going over any of these with you as well.

Getting Started

Once the weigh in is finished it is time to get started with the exercise schedule for the day.
First up we do some cardio and strength appraisals. These help us see what each person is able to do so we can tailor exercises specifically for them.

Morning Exercise

Now it is time to glove up and get some boxing going. You will be partnered up and shown the correct technique and then it’s time to start boxing!!

Wellness Seminar

After our boxing session it’s time for morning tea.  That means the exercise is done for the morning and it’s now time for our wellness seminar for the day. This will be your first session with our Nutritionist who will guide you through the basics of good nutrition.

Delicious Lunch

At the conclusion of the wellness seminar it’s lunchtime and half the day has already passed. We all head up to the restaurant for something healthy and yummy for lunch. We quite often have a nice steak sandwich which is definitely not the rabbit food most people would expect at a retreat.

Afternoon Exercise

After lunch has had time to settle, it is time for the afternoon training session.

Today we spend about 45 minutes doing circuit training, which is a mixture of strength and cardio exercises, then it is time for a healthy snack before finishing our activities for the day off with a great aqua class in our indoor heated swimming pool.

Dinner and Relaxation

So all that’s left now is to have a delicious but healthy dinner then it’s time to rest and relax before we start all over again tomorrow.


As you can see visiting a weight loss retreat to help you lose weight and improve your life isn’t as scary as some might think. In fact it’s a really nice way to spend your time – making new friends, exercising, learning about good nutrition, and of course starting the rest of your life!!
