Just a quick note here . Is anyone else addicted to That's Life and the puzzles .When i get cravings for sweet food i grab my book and it takes my mind off it for a bit .
LOL the only thing i can never finish all the puzzles and forget to send it in .

I buy them every week and send them in (Take 5 too). I've won a few prizes. I find I get really angry with That's Life because I really hate the way they make up words or use them improperly. It really bugs me. I refuse to read our local paper for the same reason - especially since I went to school with their 'star' reporter and if I can spell and write properly, why can't she? She supposedly has a journalism degree too! Amazing what rich parents can buy you.

I used to do the competitions in That's Life magazine until I realized that our state is too far away. By the time we've got the magazine delivered to our newsagencies, they've already picked their winners. Most of the winners are from Qld or NSW, hardly anyone from WA. No wonder they predate the magazines so far ahead. I just wish they'd pick equal numbers from each state as their winners.

I agree there Dolly .Being way here down south it takes 3-4 days sometimes to rech the mainland for mail times . Oh well at leats it keeps the cravings at bay

I used to buy Thats Life and Take 5 and do the competitions and send them off.... but i like to see results straight away lol and when i didnt start winning straight away, i wasnt happy.... that was the end of that.... yes, i am very impatient...

Their prizes aren't worth winning most of the time. I'm not entirely convinced that real people actually win the cool prizes like the car or the video camera or even the treadmill (that'd be good wouldn't it?). I've won a really really ugly purse, an equally ugly teddy bear wearing a That's Life t-shirt and a puzzle book. If I added up the cost of stamps and envelopes and the magazines I could probably nearly afford that treadmill on my own!

I know what you mean Serena, My sister-in-law had been sending in crosswords for ages (not sure which magazine it was) and eventually they told her she'd won a tea-set worth $200.
She was so excited until the 4 cups and small teapot arrived (the pot full of liquid wasn't big enough to make tea for the 4 cups. They were badly painted green, yellow, blue and purple blobs and smears over a white background.
She asked my daughter if she wanted it as all of her children and friends didn't, my daughter took it but said she was just being polight and didn't want it either. It's like they have a room of donated reject stuff that stores can't sell or something.

i read thats Life and take 5.. my sister buys a heaps of magazines and i get them to read when she is finished

I've never won from them magazine's either, so I don't buy them anymore.

my sister has won a you beaut digital camera and my mum scored a portable hot plate from the that's life mag....I think it is just the luck of the draw.....
