My star challenge is based on the fact that I have a lot of trouble staying motivated, and need daily goals.
So every day, my goals are:
1. Calorie balance less than 1500 calories (I count using CalorieKing software, see
http://www.calorieking.com.au)
2. At least 30 minutes cardio exercise
When I achieve both 1 and 2, I earn a star!
It's my way of focusing on HEALTH, rather than the weight loss, because the scales and I have long since been enemies...
I will weigh in, at the end of the month.
I hope that's clear to everyone! If anyone else wants to try out the star method, please, go for it! I think it's great, I'm keeping motivated on it because I have a very clear goal each day.. and I know already I am healthier!
When these things become habit to me, I may up the ante and change the definition of a star - for example, at least 45 minutes exercise etc...
Anyone could give the Star Challenge a go, I haven't patented it and I promise I won't sue! Just make up your own definitions for a star and enjoy sticking them on your calendar!
--note to any mods... is there any chance I can make this a sticky and put it at the top of my personal progress thread or something, so new people can understand my crazy star thing? ta!
