There was a woman who visited a pastor at his church office.
He hadn't seen her before but obvious she had something on her mind.
"What can I do for you?" he asked.
"I don't know what to do, I need advice for a problem I have. I'm a Christian and have a husband who loves me deeply, two beautiful children who depend on me, a lovely home and everything you could wish for. I'm having an affair with a married man at work and he wants me to leave my husband and children and run away with him. What do you think God wants me to do?"
The pastor took a deep breathe and then told her that she would be foolish to throw it all away on a man who is promising nothing, who cheats on this wife, that it was deeply unfair for the children and that the problems of her marriage could be worked out with counselling, time and commitment.
For the longest time she said nothing but wept.
Finally she looked at the pastor and said, "Do you know, that is what the other four pastors told me when I saw each of them. I thought you would be different."
She then got up and left the office.
This is a true story. She had decided what she wanted to do. She wasn't interested in advice - she just wanted validation for something that deep down in her heart she knew was wrong. None so blind as those who don't want to see.
Duromine isn't a magic cure. Your 5.5 kilos in six weeks is an excellent result. Taking Duromine will mess up the careful program that Jenny Craig has planned for you. It may give you a short term loss but it will be at the cost of long term failure. There are no short cuts to permanent weight loss. The only sure way is developing a healthy lifestyle. This is not that.
In the end people will do what they want to do. Some are smart and listen to sound advice - others have to do it the hard way.
