I am just about to join the local gym in Hastings. It's got a pool as well as full gym facilities and I think is really good value.

To have access to all the facilities - including the classes and everything it's $61 a month, but I'll be paying $50.63 per month and that gives me the gym and the classes. I really wont use the pool all that much, aside from the aqua aerobics, and that's included in the classes.

Hope that makes sense.

I go to Fernwood. I pay $36 a fortnight (student rates). I think it's $40 for non-students. It seems expensive compared to some of the other prices that are going. Im out of contract so maybe I should investigate. Although I really like women only gyms. You're not made to feel guilty for using the weights by guys staring at you cause they are waiting to use them!

I just joined a gym near me called KP fitness. Going for my first session tonight and I'm kind of nervous cuz I've never been to one before to work out. It costs $59 a month and access to classes called body combat, pilates, bikes etc. The bike class looks great. It's a dark room lit up like a disco and funky music and with the instructor at the front I was told you burn 600 calories in a session. There's also squash courts, weights room, cardio room etc.

I might just start with weights and go on a treadmill and bike tonight. I'm going with my bf so we might do a class aswell. On monday I'm having my fitness age test where with an instructor you see how many sit ups you can do in 1 minute, push-ups, step-ups and they somehow see what your fitness age is. I'm also getting an eating plan there and will have help on my problem areas (thighs and stomach) I also get a free half our personal training session.

So I plan to be super healthy in the next few months! :D I might actually be able to wear a bikini in summer OMG! lol

I am starting to think that I'm paying too much. I go to Genesis, and they charge me $34 a fortnight, and that's for an "off-peak" membership, meaning I can't get into the gym after 4:30pm.

I'm thinking of changing over to the local concil-run gym, as I would get a corporate rate as I work for council. I think it would be about $13 a week... and they have a 50m pool too (not like Genesis that has about a 15m pool lol... 8 strokes from one end to the other, what a waste of time!)

I joined Pure Fitness, the local gym, yesterday.

I am paying $36 a fortnight and was a $99 joining fee.

I pay a little more to use the ladies only section. Normal membership was about $65 a month.
