“The sense of community at TSF is something really special. I quickly noticed that no matter how experienced you are or how much weight you're lifting, if someone's going for a PB or celebrating a win, the whole gym gets behind them with encouragement and support.”
“I joined TSF back in 2017. Originally I joined out of a genuine interest in strength training and was curious about what my body could do; moreover, do it under the tutelage of someone I looked up to within the powerlifting community. Over the years and thousands of reps later, it has become less of a gym and more of a second home with a warm and loving family of lifters all the more ready to cheer and support everyone's pursuit to get stronger. I always feel welcome and look forward to training every session alongside my friends as we spot, load and work in together.”
“I have been training at The Strength Fortress since October 2019. In that time I have found a love for powerlifting, I've improved my self confidence, learned many lessons that go far beyond the weights room and have become part of a community of amazing people. The Strength Fortress is the most welcoming place with a group of members committed to cheering you on and celebrating you regardless of if you're lifting 10kgs or 100kgs. Rather than being an intimidating space which most gyms are, TSF is an environment for everyone to feel like they belong and a place where you can achieve your strength goals regardless of what they are.”
“I'm a 38 year old philosophy academic who's now mildly addicted to powerlifting. I was a complete novice when I joined up in 2021. To be honest, I had always found gyms rather intimidating and when I signed up, it did take me a little while to figure out how to navigate the space. However, the team were incredible at making me feel welcome and I was eased into a program that built both my confidence and my strength. I chose to sign up because of my history of chronic fatigue syndrome and chronic pain. I wanted something in my life that would literally rebuild my body and also prove to myself that challenging my body is safe and healthy. Powerlifting has done exactly that: I've got so much energy now, I love making gains, and I'm pretty damn proud of myself for being able to deadlift over my body weight.”
