Rebates & Insurance
Medicare
Medicare Provider listed in DA directory. DEXA body composition scans generally not claimable through Medicare. Bone Mineral Density scan for osteoporosis assessment may be eligible for Medicare rebate (requires doctor's referral and discussion with GP). EPC/chronic disease management plans may apply in some cases.
Private Health
Private health fund rebates may apply to the consult portion of extended DEXA scan consultations at Sydney/Brisbane labs, depending on individual cover for 'EP Consult'. Health fund receipt issued after appointment for self-lodgement. Mobile lab scans are not claimable. $99 single scan contains no claimable consult component.
Referral
No referral required for body composition scans in NSW and QLD. Referral required in SA, TAS, VIC, ACT and WA. Doctor may refer as part of an EPC plan.
Book a Consultation
In-depth DEXA Consult recommended for first-time clients to understand all data in the DEXA report. Subsequent appointments can use standard single scan or scan packs.
