The Pregnancy Dietitian
About
I support women through the big transitions—IVF and fertility/TTC, pregnancy, gestational diabetes, midlife changes and weight loss (including post-bariatric and GLP-1)—guided by my Nourish to Add™ Method. I offer care that's respectful (no food shame, ever), empowering (we co-create, not dictate), and non-judgmental and culturally aware—built around your real life, not someone else's food rules. What I don't do: meal-plan jail, 'clean eating,' or kale worship, unnecessary supplements or product bundles.
What I do: practical, evidence-based nutrition for fertility & IVF, pregnancy, postpartum, and life after GLP-1s or bariatric surgery—built for real life: shift work, nausea, reflux, cravings, cultural food, and family chaos included. Life's complicated. Food doesn't have to be.
Approach: Warm, non-judgmental, culturally aware, practical and evidence-based. Co-creates plans with clients ('we co-create, not dictate'). Uses an additive rather than restrictive philosophy. Described as calm, science-grounded, and compassionate.
Weight Loss Approach
Evidence-based, non-diet, additive framework called 'Nourish to Add™' — focuses on what to add before restriction. Real-food strategies, positive habit change, no fads, no meal-plan jail, no clean eating doctrine. Culturally aware and non-judgmental.
Targets sustainable change, not quick fixes. Addresses post-baby weight changes, midlife/perimenopause transitions, post-bariatric regain, and GLP-1 medication support.
Yes — dedicated GLP-1 nutrition support service. Provides tailored dietitian care for patients using GLP-1 medications such as Mounjaro® and Ozempic® (prescribed by doctors). Focus includes muscle protection, nutrient adequacy, meal rhythm, and coordinating nutrition with bariatric surgery history where applicable. Also provides media commentary on GLP-1 medications.
Yes — dedicated bariatric weight regain support service. Supports women experiencing weight regain after bariatric/weight loss surgery. Focus areas: protein and micronutrient repletion, meal rhythm, reducing grazing, managing slider foods and liquid calories, symptom support (reflux, nausea, constipation), GLP-1 coordination, muscle-protective eating, and real-world eating confidence. Collaborates with medical team for micronutrient monitoring.

Client Reviews
“Dr Shy explained everything clearly, made sure I understood, and helped me feel more confident that this was something I could do for life, not just another fad diet. It wasn't overwhelming at all. I only wish I had met Dr Shy earlier.”
— Louise
“Dr Shy's support through this stressful period has meant so much to me—it truly made things easier. Each session left me with more knowledge, greater confidence, and fresh food ideas to try. What really stood out was how everything was explained in a digestible, evidence-based way - it's been so inspiring. I walked away each time feeling clearer and more in control.”
— G.S.
“She is such a warm and welcoming person and really listens. Dr Shy helped me feel better during pregnancy and gave me confidence that both my baby and I were getting the right nutrition.”
