Digestive Dietitians / Queensland Centre for Digestive Medicine
About
At Digestive Dietitians, our purpose is to support people seeking improved digestive health and sustainable eating habits through individualised, compassionate care. We work with those both with and without gastrointestinal disease, helping optimise gut health to improve symptoms, quality of life and long-term wellbeing. We aim to inspire change, challenge beliefs and empower clients with knowledge, skills and practical strategies to enable them to nourish their bodies and optimise digestive health.
We work alongside three Gastroenterologists and two practice nurses, allowing us to provide holistic and cohesive care. We ensure geographic location isn't a barrier to health care.
Approach: Individualised, compassionate, holistic care. Evidence-based and practical. Values whole-person health including mental, social, emotional, and physical dimensions of nutrition. Health-focused rather than weight-focused. Believes nutrition is not 'one size fits all'.
Weight Loss Approach
Health-focused rather than weight-focused mindset. Emphasises overall physical and mental wellbeing over scale-focused outcomes. Advocates sustainable habits including enjoyable exercise, variety in diet, and not restricting social eating.
Does not promote calorie restriction as primary focus. Evidence-based, individualised approach.
