Optimum Intake Dietitians
About
At Optimum Intake, we've taken a new approach to health and wellbeing — bringing people an alternative to restrictive dieting. We want to move you away from the restrictive dieting mentality (where the success rate is at best 5%) as it doesn't lead to improvements in health, physically or mentally. Instead, we use Intuitive Eating and the Non-Diet Approach, helping you feel energised, satisfied with what you eat, and rediscover the pleasure of eating.
Our integrative approach addresses both the nutritional and behavioural aspects of eating. We believe in total health enhancement rather than weight loss as a goal, self-acceptance and respect for body diversity, listening to internal hunger and satiety cues, and the joy of movement. All clients receive evidence-based, individualised strategies to improve digestion, sleep, bloods, mood, and physical health in a healthy, enjoyable and sustainable way.
Approach: Compassionate, client-centred, non-diet and HAES-aligned. Warm and inclusive — 'we listen first, speak second.' Non-judgmental, integrative approach addressing both nutritional and behavioural aspects of eating. Flexible and practical.
Weight Loss Approach
Non-diet approach, Intuitive Eating, and Health at Every Size (HAES) framework. Focuses on sustainable habits rather than weight loss as a primary goal — building positive relationship with food, listening to internal hunger/fullness cues, self-acceptance and body respect. Does not use weighing/measuring foods, detailed food diaries, calorie plans, or 'diet' foods.
Addresses both nutritional and behavioural aspects of eating.
