I joined UBX Ashgrove just over a year ago after much procrastination. I felt I was too unfit, too fat, too injured and would feel intimidated by all the super fit boxers there. I was totally wrong as I was made to feel welcome as soon as I walked in the door not only by the lovely staff but also by the other members. The gym has a real warm community feel and I have never once felt self conscious or uncomfortable. The trainers are fantastic, they keep an eye on you, correcting you if you're not doing something right and pushing you harder if they think you need it and if I wasn't physically able to do some of the exercises they would always give me something else to do to work round it. As someone who doesn't love exercise generally, I have found something I actually enjoy. The 45 minutes fly by and I'm now much fitter and stronger than I was a year ago.
