Chai Tea

Even though we've included sugar in this recipe, it still comes out as being low in sugar. For those of you who are really strict on your sugar intake, you can of course omit it if you like.

Ingredients

  • ½ star anise
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon powder
  • 2 tsp black tea (or cut 2 teabags open)
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 10g vanilla pod, seeds removed or  ½ tsp vanilla paste
  • 1 cup low fat milk
  • ½ cup water

Method

  1. 1Place star anise, cinnamon, sugar, vanilla and tea in saucepan and bring to boil slowly with ¾ cup water
  2. 2Simmer for 4-5 minutes until flavour has infused.
  3. 3Add low fat milk and bring to boil slowly.
  4. 4Remove from heat, stirring well.
  5. 5Strain into cups and serve immediately.
