Italian Steak Pizza

This is a fantastic pizza to make without the guilt. You can add fresh tomato if you like, or swap the feta with grated cheese. This recipe is low fat, low sugar and high protein.

Ingredients

  • 1 pita pocket, wholemeal, ‘light’
  • 1 tbsp. pizza sauce (we used Leggo)
  • 100g fillet steak, fully trimmed
  • 1/4 onion, sliced
  • 1/4 red capsicum, sliced
  • 2 small mushrooms, sliced
  • Handful baby spinach leaves
  • 1 tbsp. feta, crumbled
  • Sprinkle of oregano and rosemary
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil

Method

  1. 1Preheat oven 200C (400F).
  2. 2Lay your pita pocket onto an oven tray which has been lined with baking paper. Spread 1 tbsp. pizza sauce over base.
  3. 3Heat a small non-stick frypan, spray cooking spray and sauté onions and capsicum for 5 mins on med heat. Add beef and mushrooms, then when nearly cooked add garlic, spinach and herbs and stir fry for anothe minute until all cooked. Take off heat; lay out on pita pocket evenly. 
  4. 4Bake in oven for 10 mins. Take out and crumble feta over pizza then enjoy!
