For a Gastric Band, most patients achieve loss of at least 50% of excess body weight. The majority of patients who receive the Gastric Sleeve or Gastric Bypass experience 60% to 80% loss of excess body weight.
Following surgery, most patients lose weight rapidly and continue to lose weight for 18-24 months.
The higher your initial BMI, the more weight you are likely to lose.
