Procedure Information
Gastric Sleeve Surgery60-70% of excess weight within the first year post-surgery▼
Gastric sleeve surgery, also known as sleeve gastrectomy, is a surgical weight loss procedure that involves removing approximately 80-85% of the stomach to create a smaller, banana-shaped stomach. This procedure aims to help individuals with obesity lose weight by restricting the amount of food they can consume and altering their metabolism.
Gastric Bypass Surgery50-80% of excess weight within the first year post-surgery▼
Gastric bypass surgery, also known as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, involves modifying the stomach and small intestine to promote weight loss. The stomach is divided into a small upper pouch and a larger lower pouch, with the small intestine rearranged to connect the upper pouch directly to a lower section of the small intestine, combining both restrictive and malabsorptive techniques.
Revision Bariatric Surgery▼
Revision weight loss surgery is a surgical procedure performed on patients who have already undergone a form of bariatric surgery, and have either had complications from such surgery or have not achieved significant weight loss results from the initial surgery. Types include converting failed gastric band into gastric sleeve or bypass, gastric sleeve revision surgery, gastric bypass revision with non-surgical overstitch procedure, and duodenal switch revision surgery.
Other Surgeries (General Surgery)▼
General surgery focusing on abdominal organs including hernia repair, gall stones removal, appendix removal, GORD treatment, surgical obesity treatments, and thyroid and parathyroid removal. Many treatments are done with laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.
