Sleeve Gastrectomy (Gastric Sleeve)▼
A bariatric procedure offered by the clinic. Part of the range of weight loss surgery options available.
Gastric Bypass▼
A bariatric procedure performed using minimally invasive approaches with robotic technology employed where feasible. Adds a small malabsorption and hormonal component to the restrictive function.
Gastric Banding▼
A bariatric procedure offered by the clinic as part of the range of weight loss surgery options.
SIPS Surgery (SADI / Duodenal Switch)▼
A variation of duodenal switch surgery. Mr Clough is one of the most experienced surgeons in Australia performing this procedure. Usually associated with diarrhoea due to fat malabsorption. May be an elegant alternative for patients who have regained weight with sleeve.
Banded Sleeve GastrectomyAbout 5% of total body weight more than conventional sleeve▼
A less commonly performed variation of sleeve surgery focused on prevention of weight regain years after the sleeve is performed. Promising 5 year results show that weight loss tends to favour patients with banded sleeve compared to conventional sleeve after about three years from the operation.
Orbera Balloon Implantation▼
An implantable balloon option that may be considered for patients with BMI under 30 where the risks and adverse effects of bariatric surgery would outweigh any medical benefits from weight loss.
Revisional Surgery▼
Procedures for patients who may require further procedures having already had a form of weight loss surgery, ranging from complete reversal due to adverse effects, maintenance procedures such as repositioning a slipped gastric band, or conversion of one operation to another for poor weight loss or adverse effects.
Body Contouring (Abdominoplasty / Brachioplasty)▼
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and brachioplasty (arm reduction) are offered as body contouring procedures for weight loss patients.
